Nanao Tabito's latest album "Long Voyage", released in September 2022, is now available in a long-awaited 2 LP analog edition! This album was completed with songs from 2020 to 2021, the year of the pandemic that hit the world and the music scene immediately after the end of the tour for the previous album "Stray Dogs", with the largest guest players ever and the band and string arrangements that he has longed for since he was a boy. This is a masterpiece of the 24th year of the band's existence. The Stray Band (Kan Sano, Sho Ogawa, Shingo Suzuki, and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto), which was a major catalyst for this album, has established an exquisite band ensemble with a sure hand while maintaining Nanao's past songwriting style. The other band formation with Tokutaro Hosoi and Shun Ishiwaka, who will lead the next generation of jazz musicians, creates a free-spirited and freaky dynamism, while Joji Sawada of the Shoro Club conducts the rich strings, and Kazutoki Umezu, Eiko Ishibashi, and Takashi Seo accompany the songs with an intimate sound like a family that shares blood, Dorian.The mixing and mastering was done by Taiji Okuda and Ken Kim, two of Nanao's most trusted soul mates from different generations. The album also features a number of gems of pop songs that will have you humming along, such as "Don't Say Goodbye," a hymn-like soul ballad with Mizuki Ohira as his partner; "Dogs & Bread," which takes you from the humorous daily life with your dogs to a world beyond your imagination; "Immigration Song," about the human rights issues of foreign residents at the immigration bureau; and "Columbus' New Land Discovery," a song about a new land in Columbus. The "Song of the Immigration Bureau," a song about the human rights of foreign residents at the Immigration Bureau, and "Soul Food with You," a unique cooking song that tries to inspire the soul of someone oppressed by the social structure, depicting on a grand scale the events from Columbus' discovery of the New World to the Minneapolis anti-racism demonstration triggered by George Floyd's tragic death.
