Daniel Rossen, lead vocalist of the popular Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear, is recognized as one of the best singer-songwriters of our time for his talent as an instrumentalist who can play many instruments, and for his high level of expression as a composer. This 10-song album (5 additional songs are included on the domestic CD) reintroduces Daniel Rossen's soft and beautiful voice, while at the same time allowing him to express himself more freely. A key member of the Grizzly Bear for nearly two decades and a fixture on the Brooklyn scene that has given birth to so much talent, Rossen has also shined brightly in the beautiful harmonies of the Grizzly Bear. Rossen has been a key member of the Grizzly Bear for nearly 20 years, bringing to the band beautiful harmonies and unique textures that reinterpret the sounds of the early 80's and still shine brightly in the Brooklyn scene, which is home to so much talent. Rossen is currently based in Santa Fe, having left Brooklyn for upstate New York.Rossen, who is known as one of the best guitarists in the scene, took his time to complete the album, playing almost all the parts on the album himself, including the newly introduced cello and upright bass. Chris Bear, also a member of Grizzly Bear, guested on the track "Tangle. The landscape depicted in You Belong There is Daniel Rossen's intuitive and sophisticated examination of the passion and enthusiasm of youth and the sensations that come from being in touch with how the world responded to that passion and enthusiasm. The domestic CD edition of this album includes a commentary and bilingual lyrics, and the entirety of his debut solo EP, "Silent Hour / Golden Mile," released in 2012, is included as a bonus track.
