Sascha Bormann (drums), Andreas Sittig (bass), Marius Leicht (keyboards), Christoph Kastner (g), Christian Roscher (vo)—a German modern blues/psychedelic band formed in 2010 by these five members: POILS—releases their 2026 album, the first since signing with Germany’s Sireena Records! Like their previous album, *WELTKLANG*, it was recorded at the band’s own studio, with mixing and mastering were handled by Kurt Ebelhauser—who has previously worked on releases by LONGDISTANCECALLING and BLACKMAIL—and Andreas Jung, an expert on the German punk and post-rock scenes. Centered on the themes of “setting out on a journey” and “self-realization,” this concept album is sung entirely in German. It continues the poetic narrative tradition of NOVALIS and STERN-COMBOMEISSEN—which the label describes as “New German Romanticism”—enriched by vintage Hammond organ and Moog sounds, and powerful guitar and bass that draw from modern psychedelia to alternative and grunge. The result is a superb album that strikes a balance between a hard-edged sound and the warmth unique to analog audio!
