The Netherlands' leading progressive rock keyboardist, Ton Scherpenzeel, who has been leading KAYAK as the core of the band from the band's debut until the farewell tour in 2010, has released his new album from OOB in the Netherlands in 2012. This album contains 18 songs carefully selected from the songs written for the live performances of the Dutch comedian Youp van't Hek from the 80's to the present. In addition to the original recordings made at the time of production, some songs have been rearranged and re-recorded for this album. In addition to his own piano/keyboards, the album features Rens van der Zalm (accordion/fiddle/mandoline etc.) of the Dutch folk-rock band FUNGUS, and guest players such as a saxophone/clarinet/keyboard harmonica/mandolin player for each song. The sound is characterized by its emphasis on the acoustic instruments, and it can be said that KAYAK has added elements of chamber music and vaudeville, and it is a work that is both prestigious and accessible in a way that sets it apart from his other solo works.
