CD1 features works by 18th century French composers, all of which are important to the flutist's repertoire. CD 1 is a collection of works by Monteclair, Bravais, Guignon, Boismortier, and Leclair, recorded in 1979, the year the ACCENT label was founded. The founder, Andreas Glatt, was both an instrument maker and an accomplished recorder player. CD11 Dovienne's Flute Quartets, recorded in 2003, is a valuable first step for the ACCENT label, which is renowned for its recordings that are close to the musicians and their works. François Dovienne has been called the "French Mozart. As the composer himself was one of the best flutists of his day, he has a perfect grasp of the range of the flute and how to play it with what technique and how to play it.In addition to Bartold Kuiken's love of fluted traverso, the group also includes Ryo Terakobe, Wieland Kuiken, and Sara Kuiken, performers who are now at the center of the Baroque world.
