Long-awaited new album by one of the "most streamed" pianists in the world Yup Bevin - Liminal Deutsche Grammophon is pleased to announce the release of "Liminal," a new album by Dutch pianist Jupp Bevin, acclaimed as one of the "world's most beloved and most streamed" pianists. It is inspired by the book "Wild Renaissance" by Guillaume Roger, which describes a new "renaissance" in response to contemporary environmental, social, and ethical issues. In order to find an answer to the increasing uncertainty and collapse of the system, Bevin explores the role of humans in a broader, transhuman ecology that seeks connection with, rather than detachment from, nature. He says, "This album goes back and forth between two aspects. At times I take a sound and refine it to its purest form. At other times the music seems to flow on its own, turning, weakening, and returning to silence as if guided by something natural.It is more about connection, resonance, and change than structure, more like an ecosystem than a building" (Jupp Bevin). Composed of 15 solo piano pieces, partially interwoven with electronics, the album takes the listener on a fantastic journey between contemporary composition and introspective acoustic poetry in a boundary (liminal) space, allowing them to experience a world beyond the divide and discover new resonances. *Eco recordings, gatefold edition.
