This album features the music of Chopin and his friend Franschaume, who supported Chopin until the end, and the works of Auguste-Joseph Franschaume (1808-1884), a friend of Chopin's, by the French-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas, who weaves the music of the "related" cello. Franchaume was a French cellist and composer to whom Chopin dedicated his cello sonatas, and with whom he remained in contact until shortly before his death. I love you. That's all I can say to you. I love you, because I'm going to collapse from sleepiness and sickness. Chopin's last letter was to Franschaume. These are the words. Thomas, who had always had a strong admiration for Chopin's works, had been playing the Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op.65, composed in the last years of Chopin's life, when he learned that it was dedicated to his friend, cellist Franschaume, who had composed mainly piano works, for quite some time, In 2019, Thomas will be loaned one of the most beautiful cellos in the world, a 1730 Stradivarius "Feuermann" from the Nippon Music Foundation.And to my surprise, it was also owned by Franschaume. Camille says, "Faced with this incredible moment, it became completely natural to record an album dedicated to Chopin (and especially to his sonatas). The album features works by Franschhomme and four Chopin compositions arranged by Franschhomme for the cello, performed on Franschhomme's legendary Feuermann cello. Universal Music/IMS
