Mary J. Blige has announced the release of her first new album in five years, the long-awaited first release on the up-and-coming 300 Entertainment label, which includes Fetty Wap, and is titled "GOOD MORNING GORGEOUS". It is her fourteenth album. It is her 14th studio album.
Two singles from the album, "Good Morning Gorgeous" and "Amazing," were released at the end of last year. Good Morning Gorgeous," the title track of the album, is a soulful, gorgeous slow number co-written with H.E.R., D'Mile, and Lucky Dye, who also contributes production, guitar, and backing vocals. The song is about overcoming the self-loathing, conflict, and self-doubt that she has actually felt, and building a self that can accept the person she used to hate, a song that is typical of her as she has empowered many women through her songs.
Amazing," on the other hand, is a hip-hop/dance anthem full of itself. This one features DJ Khaled in songwriting and production, along with Azzouz and Streetrunner. He also appears as a featured artist on the track and in the music video.
Other details of the album have yet to be revealed, but Mary herself says of the album, "It was really fun to produce.
I'm looking forward to letting the fans know what the album will be like through the first two singles that have been released. I am grateful to all of my collaborators and partners who have walked with me through the process of making the album, and even more grateful to the fans who will enjoy this new creation."
Last year, she appeared as Dinah Washington in the hit movie "Respect. And on February 13 (US local time), immediately following the album's release, Mary J. Blige will perform at the 56th Super Bowl halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and others. This one is sure to be a big hit as well. GOOD MORNING GORGEOUS" will undoubtedly be the most talked about album in the R&B/HIPHOP scene in 2022. Another page has been added to the legend of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
