Beethoven (1770-1827)

Description:

This is the Beethoven that astonished the world. A box set of historical masterpieces encapsulating 10 years of Pervo and the Deutsche Kammerfilharmonie, now available on imported vinyl. In June 2004, Parvo Järvi became the artistic director of the Deutsche Kammerphil and gave his first concert with the orchestra. Immediately after that, Pävo and the Deutsche Kammerfilharmonie recorded Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and No. 5 "Emperor" with Ikuyo Nakamichi (simultaneously recorded on video), and also recorded Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, the first of the complete symphonic works. Since then, Beethoven's works have become the core repertoire of Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphil, and their recordings of the complete symphonies and piano concertos with Ikuyo Nakamichi, which were made in 2008 alongside their worldwide cycle performances, have all received high acclaim. The Beethoven Cycle, performed in Yokohama during the duo's first tour of Japan, was acclaimed as "the world's greatest Beethoven" and became their trademark. 2009's Beethoven Cycle at the Bonn Beethoven Festival was recorded on video and released on DVD along with a TV broadcast. This box set contains the complete symphonies recorded between 2004 and 2008.The strong and flexible sound of the nine symphonies is brought to life by the rich articulation of the strings with their opposing vibrato controlled, the virtuoso winds, the natural trumpets without valves, and the period timpani with their rigid bachi. The soloist of the 9th Symphony is a new national singer. The soloists for No. 9 are tenor Klaus Freelian Folkert, who has many fans in Japan, including Lohengrin at the New National Theatre and Meistersinger at the Tokyo Spring Festival, Matthias Goerne, whose deep and beautiful voice has earned him a unique place in the world of lieder and opera, and the conductor of the Bayreuth Symphony Orchestra. Since its foundation in 2001, the Deutsche Kammerkohr has been recognized as a professional chamber choir of the highest caliber. The Deutsche Kammerkohr, which has been gaining attention as an outstanding professional chamber choir since its founding in 2001, also sings with beautiful diction. Recorded in DSD during a session at the acoustically excellent Hunkhaus Berlin-Nalepa-Strasse in Berlin, these recordings are highly acclaimed in terms of sound quality. The recordings were made by Polyhymnia, a Dutch company founded by the staff of the former Philips label. Sony Music
