Description:
Kornelia Nilsson's first leader album! ☆ Debut album by Sweden's sparkling drummer Cornelia Nilsson! Collaboration with masters such as Aaron Parks, Gábor Bora and Daniel Frank! Swedish drummer and composer Cornelia Nilsson's deeply moving debut album. She and Swedish bassist Daniel Franck have formed two trios around her, one featuring the "brilliant" American pianist Aaron Parks and the other featuring Hungarian "tenor giant" Gabor Bolla, a Hungarian "tenor giant". Known as "Cornelia" or affectionately as "Connie," she was born in Lund in 1992. As a teenager she visited underground jazz clubs and studied drums at Skorp National High School and the School of Performing Arts and Music at Gothenburg University, where she also took lessons from Lewis Hayes. He currently lives in Copenhagen. He has played as a member of the "Matthias Landeus Trio" and the "Thomas Markson Open." She has performed with musicians including Anas Christensen, Tim Hagans, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, and Naoko Sakata. She says that she emphasizes "space" and "silence" when she plays and composes, and this album was created in that style. The title of the album is "Where Do You Go?", a heart-wrenching ballad in which she sings, "Where do you go, when it starts to rain, where do you sleep, when the night comes ......", Brooks Bowman, and Thelonious Monk, as well as "Ninni" for Cornelia's Mother and "Saturn's Return," which explores new territory.
