2024 new work by the trio of Marilyn Mazur and Anders Christensen, among others. Sound Flower" is the new 2024 album by the trio of percussionist and drummer Marilyn Mazur, bass player Anders Christensen, and alto saxophonist Jesper Zoeten, who has performed with Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, and Jan Garbarek, and released many of their own albums as leaders. The trio's new 2024 album Sound Flower. Essentially, group improvisation is a conversation. Sound Flower is the first time that three masters of improvised music from different generations meet as a trio, and their sound world (klangverden in Danish) is immediately captivating. The audience is immediately captivated by their sound world (klangverden in Danish). Listening to each performer tell their own story, but stepping back and listening to the unit is a completely different experience. Alto saxophonist Jesper Zeuthen is a legend of Danish music, but did not actually make his debut as a bandleader until after the age of 60. His distinctive sound has shaped his career since the early 1970s with groups such as Blue Sun and the New Jungle Orchestra, as well as with such creative musical giants as Terry Riley, Don Cherry, and Paul Motian. Anders (AC) Christensen has recorded one solo album as a leader, and two late mentors, Paul Motian and Tomasz Stanko, The Reveonettes, The Savage Rose, Joe Lovano, Lee Konitz, and Brian Blade, Jacob Bro, along with Space Lab, have received accolades in the international music community for many years. Danish-American Marilyn Mazur, considered a self-taught percussionist with a background in classical music and dance theater, performed with Miles and Pare Mikkelborg in "Aura" before being invited to join Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Gil Evans, Jan He was invited to join Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Gil Evans, and Jan Garbarek's group and became well-known. A pioneer in the fields of world fusion, Scandinavian supergroups, and all-female bands since the beginning of her career, Mazur has expanded her musical knowledge and diversity over five decades.
