Rare recordings by Ellie Nye! Brahms & Schubert! A Brahms and Schubert coupling by the legendary German female pianist Ellie Nye! Although it took a long time for Ellie Nye to be restored to power due to her collaboration with the Nazis during the war, she is now known as an unquestionably great pianist. It is no exaggeration to say that Brahms was a rare pianist, especially when it came to playing works from the Austrian and German-speaking countries. The Brahms recording on this CD is a monumental performance, the first recording of the same piece by a woman, and she performed it with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductor is credited as Max Fiedler, a Brahms specialist, but the recording was completed under the direction of Alois Melichal after his sudden death.
