Bill Bluford's eponymous band, Bluford, formerly of King Crimson-UK, was one of the most distinctive bands in the progressive rock and jazz-rock movement. The four members, Alan Holdsworth, Dave Stewart (formerly of Egg, Hatfield & the North), and Jeff Berlin, a technical musician who was gaining attention on the jazz scene, formed Blue Ford, which did not do well commercially. However, they gained a strong fan following. After the release of "One Of A Kind", Alan Holdsworth left the band, and a new session musician, John Clark, was auditioned to join the band to produce the new album "Gradually Going Tornado". With the release of the new album, the band toured North America, and the Boston show on July 21 was recorded and broadcast on a local FM station to promote the tour. This live album is based on the sound recordings used for the broadcast, and includes the complete set list of the day, including the encores.This live album is a long-awaited release for Bill Bruford's fans, as the album basically consists of songs from the new album, and no live album from this tour has been released!
