The "Molimur" is a collaboration between the Hillyard Ensemble of A Capella Chorale and baroque violinist Christoph Poppen. Based on the theory that Bach's "Chaconne" was a memorial to his first wife, Maria, the chorale is sung while interspersing movements from Bach's Partita No. 2 for Solo Violin. This is an album with a very mysterious atmosphere that is very typical of ECM. (C)RS
