Two symphonies by Swedish pianist and composer Niklas Sievelev, who studied organ from age 6, switched to piano at 14, and entered the Royal Conservatory of Music in Stockholm at age 17, where he studied composition and piano. His First Symphony, written in 2013, was inspired by the birth of his son, who was born in the same year, and is a colorful work that evokes the landscape of his native northern Sweden and the influence of Sibelius.
