The winner of the 2018 "Jaen International Piano Competition," Kim Hong-Ki, born in South Korea in 1991, has competed in numerous competitions and has achieved excellent results. The "Jaen International Piano Competition" has been held in Spain since 1956 and became an international competition in the 1970's. The winner of the competition is immediately guaranteed a place on the world stage. The competition is also known for the fact that a new work is always commissioned for the qualifying program, and in 2018, "The Garden of Mirrors" by contemporary Spanish composer Sanchez-Verdú was prepared for the competition, with each contender competing against each other.
