The music of Latvian composer Imants Zemzaris, who explores the meaning of "truth" in a variety of colors. Latvian composer Imants Zemzaris (b.1951) will celebrate his 70th birthday in 2021. His music, which is said to explore the meaning of "truth" in colors of "subtle lyricism, incandescent drama, and brooding tragedy," has the potential to reach a wide audience, yet is largely unknown. Many of his piano works are only available in manuscript notation, and all of the pieces on this album are being recorded for the first time. Pianist Diana Zandberga studied with Lazar Bellman at the European Academy of Music in Elba and Alicia de la Rocha at the Granados Marshall Academy in Barcelona after completing her master's degree at the Jázeps Veitlis Latvia Academy of Music.
