This album celebrates the 60th birthday of Jonathan Dove, one of the leading contemporary British composers. Dub has been called "Britten's heir," and the album features five works written by him for the BBC Philharmonic. Although best known as a composer of choral works, the BBC Philharmonic has performed his orchestral works since 1997. The Ringing Isle" from 1997 is music inspired by a line from Shakespeare's "Richard II," and "Hojoki" from 2006 is a unique soundscape with countertenor.
