God and king of the jump blues. And a pioneer. As a saxophone player and band leader, he was at the heart of black music from the early 1940s to the mid-1950s, writing many songs that became hits. His influence played an important role in the origins of rock and roll that began in the early 1950s. This CD is a valuable collection of recordings from his post-Decca period (1953) with Aladdin Records. This is a reissue of an album released in 1957 on Score, a label affiliated with Aladdin. The bonus tracks include some of the material not included on the album, making this a great gift for those who only know Louis from his Decca days.
