Beautiful contemporary music inspired by the great outdoors featuring Tetsu J., a leading expert on the Aboriginal didgeridoo instrument, Junko Chiba on violin, and other top musicians! Takuo Kawachi belongs to the so-called contemporary music genre, but his works inspired by nature are all very lyrical and romantic, and have been enthusiastically received by some of his fans. In his early twenties, he was recognized by Toru Takemitsu at the 3rd Music Today International Composition Competition, and his works have been featured at World Music Days, a music festival sponsored by the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM). In his book, critic Toshihide Katayama describes Kawachi's music as "influenced by a variety of influences, from late Romanticism and Impressionism to hard rock and progressive rock, and pursuing a modern lyricism that emphasizes tonality and melody.The centerpiece of this disc is "Sonata Pacifica II" for didgeridoo, a traditional instrument of the Australian Aboriginal people, cello, and percussion. This work dreams of the unification of nature and man by expressing a dialogue between the didgeridoo, which symbolizes nature, and the cello, which symbolizes man. The works, which evoke a new lyricism that is not a repetition of the past, are music that could be called Romanticism of the 21st century, and will appeal not only to fans of classical and contemporary music, but also to lovers of post-classical music.
