Hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, Landfall was originally formed by drummer Felipe Sousa and guitarist Marcelo Gerbucke, musical friends who have been playing together since they were about 15. A few years later, bassist Thiago Forbesi joined them and they decided to work as a band.During this period, they released three independent albums under the name Wild Child, opened for Glenn Hughes and Mike Vesela, and grew into a talented band that performed concerts throughout Brazil. In 2017, the band, which became known as Landfall with the addition of former Auras singer Guy Oliver, who was a hot topic among melodic rock enthusiasts at the time, released its first album, The Turning Point, on Frontiers Records. Oliver is also a songwriter and has contributed songs to several artists on the label, including Issa.Oliver added, "It was a real pleasure to be back at Frontiers Records with a new band and new songs. When I first met the guys, I was really impressed with how talented these musicians are. I knew we could make great music together." I thought we could make some great music together. This album has a more powerful sound than the previous album, "The Turning Point," and is a high-quality melodic rock work with a solid foundation, harmonies, and really catchy melodies.
