A CD that piano trio lovers should definitely listen to: a CD by the winners of GENUIN's annual German Music Competition (this competition is a multiple winner), and the debut CD by one of the 2021 winners, Trio E.T.A. The trio of three young German players is named after E.T.A. Hoffmann, who is a member of the trio. The trio, named after E.T.A. Hoffmann, became widely known after winning the German Music Competition in 2021. This CD is a good introduction to their abilities. The refined and flamboyant tone of the opening of Haydn's masterpiece, the C major Piano Trio, is all it takes to know that they are no ordinary musicians. The calm joy of the second movement and the galloping but never cluttered third movement are also wonderful, the music always fresh. Smetana's Trio in G minor, on the other hand, is a strong, concentrated digging that pulls you in. And in between the two works, the willingness to put Roman Pavolek's (1971-) 2006 work in the middle of the program. They will surely become one of the great piano trios of the second quarter of the 21st century. Tobu Shoji Co.
