Tilman Hoppstock studied guitar and cello in Darmstadt and Cologne and is now one of Germany’s leading guitarists, performing all over the world. Manuel María Ponce (1882–1948), known as the “founder of the Mexican National School of Music” and the “father of the modern Mexican National School of Music,” studied composition under Dukas at the Paris Conservatory and developed a close friendship with Segovia during his time in Paris (1926–1932), has been reissued by the German label Christophorus. The “Sonatina del Sur” and “Theme, Variations, and Finale” are performed based on the original manuscripts. Tokyo M Plus
