As one of Germany's most mature cellists, he has released albums on Sony Classical, each with its own theme. My Tunes Vol. 1" and its "Vol. 2", an album of cello pieces in orchestral arrangements by Jan Vogler, dominated the German classical charts at No. 1 for a month and became bestsellers in Europe and the United States. This release is a sequel to those two, a collection of small pieces performed by a duo with Ismo Eskelinen, a leading figure in the next generation of Finnish guitarists. Eskelinen was born in Kuopio. He studied with Timo Korhonen and Oskar Gilija, and after winning the Scandinavian Guitar Competition and other competitions, he has been active as a soloist and chamber musician. This album was recorded in a small studio in New York City.The pieces by Burgmüller and Hadames Nyatari are original works for cello and guitar, while the others are popular pieces arranged for cello and guitar. The repertoire ranges from Italian, German, French, Spanish, South American, and even Henry Mancini's "Moon River," each with its own interpretation and arrangement. The cello and guitar tones blend very naturally, making for an album full of charm. The album closes with "Gymnopedie No. 1," an arrangement by Jan Vogler himself. Sony Music
