Coupling their solo performances, this disc is a strong reminder that the Korean piano world is home to some of the world's greatest piano talent. ■Lee Tae-ki, born in 1996, is a brilliant young pianist who made his name known throughout Europe by becoming the youngest winner of the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition in England in 2014. In the United States, she studied at the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music, and has made great strides under the guidance of renowned teacher Robert McDonald. In Korea, he took the podium for an emergency appearance at a subscription concert of the Bucheon (Puchon) Philharmonic Orchestra in June 2018 due to the sudden cancellation of the soloist originally scheduled for the concert. He performed Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 3" to great acclaim. Lee was born in 2000.He was selected as a finalist at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in 2021, and his performances are still fresh in his mind. In 2016, at the age of 16, he won the first prize at the 10th Paderewski International Piano Competition and the third prize at the 10th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2018, continuing his steady progress, and in 2022, he and Seiya Kamei won the piano section of the Ron Thibault Crespin International Music Competition simultaneously, creating a great buzz After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he was awarded the third prize in the Moscow International Piano Competition. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he moved his studies from the Moscow Conservatory to the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, France, where he aims to make further progress.
