The program features a variety of portraits of clowns, tracing back to the old traditions of the commedia dell'arte and carnivalesque festivals of the 17th century, and revisiting the figure of the clown, which is associated with carnival, masks, and madness.Schoenberg's "Clown Possessed by the Moon," of course, whose 150th anniversary is in 2024, but also works by Schumann and Debussy, as well as a diverse range of composers from Shea Musgrave, Amy Beach, Joseph Marx, Poldowski (Irene Wieniawska), Kovalski, and Korngold. The multifaceted charm of "Pierrot" by composers will be portrayed by Ensemble 360, a chamber orchestra formed by renowned soprano Claire Booth and an elite group of young British musicians. Clare Booth has performed at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, and other major opera houses in the U.K., performing a wide range of repertoire both on stage and in concert, including a tour of Japan in October 2016 for the "Toru Takemitsu Orchestra Concert 20 years after his death. In October 2016, the British soprano singer performed in Japan for the "20th Anniversary of the Death of Takemitsu Toru Orchestra Concert". (Tokyo M-Plus)
