Here is the latest evolution of the Avishai Cohen Trio, a trinity that has been newly discovered by returning to its origins! With this album, Avichai has returned to the roots of his musical expression and activities. However, in Avichai's case, returning to his roots always leads to the beginning of a new chapter. With this work, too, he opened a new door of creation and expression. Of the production process, Avishay said, "There was a feeling of a new, fresh, and incredibly solid form that we could achieve as a trio," and of the chemistry between the trio, "Thus, the three of us came together as one. In pursuit of the absolute and the pure, Avishai's new 2015 album is rich, dense, and full of new ideas.From the Latin-tinged "Abie," to the melodic prayer of "Halelyah," to the smooth "Almah," to the harmonic and rhythmic complexity of "From Darkness," to the Charlie Chaplin standard "Smile, There is a strong and consistent beauty here, as if tracing a path from hazy darkness to luminous light. The Avishai-Cohen Trio transforms even outbursts of anger and negativity into an uplifting musical experience. Avishai says, "It is satisfying to be able to say that this album uplifts the listener. If you ask me what I want to feel when I am playing, I will say elation. For me, this is the fundamental element of music, the goal that I try so hard to achieve...
