Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, the eldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach, was educated to the best of his ability and developed into one of the most accomplished keyboard players, improvisers, and composers of his time. This collection of W.F. Bach's Polonaises is presented by veteran Italian pianist and composer Giancarlo Simonacci, who has released outstanding modern and contemporary albums by Satie and Montpauw, Cage and Feldman, and his own works. Reflecting the structure and order of coordination of the Great Bach's "Mean Clavier Collection," the "12 Polonaises" embrace Polish majesty, grandeur, and nobility, alternating between the very lively and spontaneous major-key pieces and, in contrast, the lyrical and refined minor-key pieces.
