The colorful and changing orchestral sounds. The Orchestre National de Loire led by Pascal Roffet recorded Debussy's orchestral arrangements of "Petite Suite," "The Toy Box," and "The Child's Domain" on this SACD hybrid disc. Pascal Roffet, who specializes in French modern and contemporary music, recorded Debussy's orchestral works! The three orchestral works are not "The Sea" or "Prelude to the Pastoral Afternoon," but "Suite," "Toy Box," and "The Child's Domain" arranged for orchestra. The "Suite" is a work for piano four hands, arranged for orchestra by Henri Büsser (1872-1973). The Toy Box" is a ballet music for children consisting of four scenes. The orchestral version of this work, also for piano quartet, is unfinished, but was completed by André Capré (1878-1925). The last piece, "The Child's Domain," is a solo piano piece composed for Debussy's daughter Emma. It was also arranged for orchestra by Capre. This arrangement, which beautifully expresses the kaleidoscope of colors of Debussy, a pioneer of impressionist music, is performed colorfully with the Orchestre National de Loire, of which Pascal Roffet is the musical director.Roffe and company have previously released a collection of works by Mickaël Jarrell (KKC-6348/BIS SA-2482), orchestral works by Roussel & Ducasse (BIS SA-2432), orchestral works by Pascal Dusapin (BIS SA-2262) and Dutilleux (BIS SA-1651).
