In the late 1990s, PETER CHRISTOPHERSON, a successful music video director in the MTV era, moved from London to Weston-super-Mare with COIL and his life partner, JOHN BALANCE. New members were brought in, including THIGHPAULSANDRA, and by 2003, the proliferation of low-cost CD-Rs for pressing, MacBooks, DAWs, VSTs, plug-ins, and other technological innovations doubled COIL's discography, allowing him to deliver live performances as he had envisioned. This album was originally sold in CD-R format on the 2004 mini-tour "EVEN AN EVIL FATIGUE" (re-released on COIL's official website in September of the same year, and on Threshold House press CD in 2006), and captures COIL at their purest in the late period. This album captures COIL in its purest form. This is the long-awaited official CD/LP reissue from DAIS RECORDS in the U.S. with additional bonus tracks. The sound is focused on rhythm and beat, and is filled with a sense of euphoria that makes maximum use of and fuses THIGHPAULSANDRA's advanced synthesizers, BALANCE's poetic lyrics, CHRISTOPHERSON's jazz leanings and note-type MAC, and POWERBOOK's ABLETON. The album is filled with a sense of euphoria.For the "strange and otherworldly music" the trio aimed for, they were joined by Hardy-Guardy player CLIFF STAPLETON, percussionist TOM EDWARDS, who also played live with SPIRITUALIZED, and European / Near Eastern wind specialist MIKE YORK Remastered.
