The Prisoners are the best of the neo-mods from Rochester, embodying the sweet melodic sense of 60's pop with the sharpness of post-punk and the roughness of garage rock in perfect balance. Keyboardist James Taylor, later known as JTQ, is a legend who is greatly respected by later British bands. Coincidentally, their live tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic first album "A Taste of Pink," released in 1982, the year THE JAM broke up, was a great success, and they decided to write new songs. The four members of the original lineup got together and finished recording in two days, just as they had done with the first album they made as teenagers. The result is a fast and furious album full of their signature garagey guitars, Hammond organ grooves, harmonies like a 60s beat/psych group, wildness like WHO or a freak beat band, soul of Small Faces, and catchy melodies that instantly stick in your head! The album is a great success.
