Description:
Hailing from California, Testament was one of the leading bands in the thrash metal scene alongside Metallica when they debuted in 1986. Their fifth album, *The Ritual*, released in 1992, reached No. 55 on the U.S. album charts. After several lineup changes and steadily improving with each album release, their 10th album, *Dark Roots of Earth* (original title: *Dark Roots of Earth*), released in 2012, reached No. 12 on the U.S. album charts.
To coincide with the album’s release, they embarked on a large-scale world tour, the “DarkRootOfEarthTour,” comprising a total of 64 shows across North America, South America, Asia, and Europe. The highlight of this tour—their performance at a festival in Germany on August 4 of that year—was recorded and broadcast as a special television and radio program. This album is a live recording based on the audio from that broadcast and features a complete recording of the concert, including the encore.
With the new album breaking out worldwide—and having reached No. 15 on the German album charts—the audience’s enthusiasm was immense, and Testament’s live performance, fueled by that energy, was a magnificent display of the dignity befitting a top band in the heavy metal and hard rock scene!
