Blue Murder (Rock)

Description:

Blue Murder was formed by John Sykes, who left Whitesnake after a rift with David Coverdale. The band started with Tony Franklin (ex-The Firm) and Carmine Appice (ex-Cactus, Beck Bogart & Appice, King Cobra), and debuted with the album "Blue Murder" in 1989 with high expectations from HM/HR fans. The band's royal road sound was not so successful in the U.S., where their album charted at No. 69 on the U.S. album chart, but it was a big hit in Japan, and their seven concerts in Japan in August of the same year were all sold out immediately. This rare live archive of Blue Murder's Lineup II is now available! After the Japan tour, the band toured North America. The band then begins recording a new album, but due to lack of progress, Tony Franklin and Carmine Appice leave the band. John Sykes resumes with four new members, Marco Mendoza (b), Tommy Osteen (ds), Kelly Keeling (vo), and Nick Green (Kbds). Then in 1993, "Nothin' But The Trouble" was released. Like its predecessor, "Nothin' But The Trouble" charted at No. 6 in Japan, but failed to chart in the U.S. The band went on a 12-show "Nothin' But Trouble Tour" to promote the album. The band went on a 12-show "Nothin' But Trouble Tour" to promote the album. The concert in Dallas, Texas on May 8 of the following year was recorded and broadcast for a radio program on PBS (in the U.S.). This album is a live album using the sound sources used for the broadcast, and includes the complete concert, including songs by Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake. The band puts John Sykes' guitar and vocals more to the forefront and delivers a hard and heavy performance that is second to none in the lineup I. The band would later tour Japan before disbanding, so this is a rare live archive!
