Down to the Bone has been active since the heyday of acid jazz in the 1990s. This 2011 album was produced by a group of talented musicians who have supported the UK music scene during the acid jazz and rare groove era! The main members are Neil Angilay, keyboardist of Snowboy's band, David Giovanni, drummer of Snowboy's band, Julian Crampton, bassist of Incognito, Mark Jamie, guitarist of Simply Red Mark Jamie, Joe Beckett, who was percussionist in Paul Weller's band, Ryan Jacobs, trumpeter in Alice Russell's band, and Imani, who sings vocals in Incognito. The band's leader and producer, Stewart, gathered at his studio to create this album from scratch.Stewart, who grew up listening to the good old jazz/soul works of Barry White, MFSB, Herbie Mann, George Duke, Deodato, Sergio Mendes, and others, has created a powerful mix of styles influenced by Roy Ayers, Ronnie Liston Smith, The Rebirth and New Mastersounds, with whom he has performed, and Incognito. He has mixed his influences from Roy Ayers, Ronnie Liston Smith, The Rebirth, New Master Sounds, and even Incognito to create this powerful work! P-VINE
