This collection pays tribute to the solo artists, girl groups, and newcomers who dreamed of making their studio debut—all of whom produced a wealth of classic teen pop songs that had remained buried and overlooked. It captures this era and scene by effortlessly moving between dramatic “Wall of Sound”-style tracks, instantly catchy girl group dance numbers, atmospheric heartbreak ballads, British beat pop, sophisticated Brill Building sounds, and sparkling West Coast soft pop—all seamlessly woven together to capture the spirit of this era and scene. Featured artists include the Baby Dolls, Chichi, Ginny Satin, Debbie Stanley, Lorraine Gray, the Witches, Linda Ball, Sunny Gale, the Penny Sisters, Mandy Martin, among others.
