German pianist and composer Klaus Zimon arranged Mahler's Symphony No. 9 in an ensemble version (chamber orchestra version). This is the world premiere recording of this version, and the "Ensemble Mini" recording, which has attracted much attention for its unique arrangement with accordion and piano, is now being released in a new edition with Japanese commentary. Ensemble Mini was founded in 2001 by British conductor Jules Gale and young musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic Academy. With the motto "small is beautiful," the ensemble has commissioned new works in the tradition of Schoenberg's private performance societies, and has received much media attention in Germany and Switzerland. This Klaus Zimon version of Mahler No. 9 was also commissioned by Ensemble Mini.Formation: 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, fagot, 2 horns, trumpet, accordion, piano, 2 percussion instruments (Tokyo M-Plus)
