This is a collection of works by Graham, a Scottish composer known for his numerous works for brass band and wind orchestra. Graham is well known in Japan, having visited Japan on several occasions, and is also extremely popular in the United States, having received the prestigious Oswald Award from the Band Masters Association of America. This album was produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Graham's birth, and features performances by the Black Dyke Band, "the world's most powerful ensemble," who have a close relationship with Graham, of well-known works by wind band fans, including the masterpiece "On the Shoulders of Giants," and the latest work composed in 2018 (world premiere recording of course). The Black Dyke Band, "the world's most powerful ensemble," will be performing the works on this remarkable album.On the Shoulders of Giants," a tribute to Miles Davis and other great brass players of the past; "Radio City," inspired by an American radio program Graham heard as a child; "Meditation," commissioned by the Black Dyke Band; "Paramount Rhapsody," a trumpet concerto in memory of legendary trumpeter Harry James; "New York Movie," inspired by a science fiction film by American painter Hopper; and "The New Yorker," a piece of music by Fritz Lang.
