Description:

~The first edition was sold out. The original sound sources of the extremely rare "Butcher Cover" are now available in stereo and mono! The Beatles' releases in the 1960s differed between EMI (U.K.) and Capitol (U.S.) in terms of album content, with the Capitol version prioritizing new songs while also including songs from the previous album. The editing policy of ignoring the Beatles' intentions and concepts continued until before the release of "Sargent Peppers," and some albums, such as the U.S. version of "Rubber Soul," were released simultaneously in the U.S. and the U.K., but contained different songs. However, through recent research, enthusiasts have begun to realize that there are some unexpected attractions, such as different mixes from the British release. In particular, "Yesterday and Today" from 1966, which became one of the biggest collector's items of the Beatles' Capitol releases and even caused a recall controversy as a "butcher cover," has a rare mix as well. There are also rare mixes of both the mono and stereo recordings. The mixes here were recorded from the original masters of the era. Here's a soundtrack from "Butcher Cover" to "Trunk Cover" that you won't hear unless you get the mono & stereo LP recordings. And unfortunately, the reproduction CD that came out on Apple & Capitol in 2014 is not the mix from that time (tears). In particular, the three songs on the master, which was sent to the U.S. a month and a half ahead of the album "Revolver" while it was still in production, are a different mix. I'm Only Sleeping" has a unique U.S. mix with reverse guitar rotation that is different from either the U.K. stereo or mono mixes. Dr. Robert" is also a mono mix, with the maracas continuing to play during the chorus of "Well, Well, Well," and John mumbling "OK, FAB" after the song is played. The stereo version was recorded in pseudo-stereo by Capitol, but it too will remain as a rare mix. This is the sound that American fans heard on LP records in June 1966. Disc 2 contains session recordings of related songs, including an early version of "And Your Bird Can Sing" (key D) and a remake (key E), from rare surviving takes. The original UK mixes of songs such as "Daytripper" are also included for comparison. The 9,500-character detailed Japanese commentary is well worth reading, including an examination of the Butcher cover. The 9,500-word Japanese commentary is well worth reading, including an examination of the Butcher cover. The Beatles were on the verge of their last live tour amidst the anti-Christ movement. This is a perfect reproduction of the sound that American fans were listening to during that crazy period. This is the standard plastic case version on 2 CDs. Japanese liner notes. 9,500 characters in booklet. Jacket with licensed photo by Getty Images Japan.
