The stunning performance by the Naked Rallies in 1976 in Paitoku, Kyoto, has now been revived. The new album "Jittoku '76" has been released simultaneously on CD and 2 analog vinyl sets. In 1976, Naked Rallies consisted of Takashi Mizutani (Vo/G), Takeshi Nakamura (G), who was a member of the band when it was formed, Hiroshi Narazaki (Ba), who had been a member of Brain Police and Datenryu, and Toshiro Miaki (Dr), formerly of the Kichijoji live house "OZ" and a former staff member of the OZ band, Sammy. Toshiro Miaki (Dr.), a former staff member of the Kichijoji live house "OZ" and also a member of the OZ band. Many Rallye's scholars have stated that "Rallye's was at its best during this period. In fact, in 1976, while recording under the leadership of Akira Hazama in anticipation of signing a contract with Virgin Records in the U.K., the Rallies were actively engaged in live performances at the Shibuya Attic, which had just opened in 1975, at a pace approaching once a month. Following the previous year, he participated in the 3rd Sunset Festival (August 3-4), an outdoor festival held in Ishikawa Prefecture. On that occasion, they were booked to perform two nights in a row at "Jitoku" in Kyoto on July 29 and 30 to coincide with their expedition to the Hokuriku region. Opened in 1973, "Jitoku" is a long-established live house that represents Kyoto, known for its unique construction in a renovated sake brewery. The Rallies had been performing in Kyoto for some time, and their shows in the ancient capital, which could be said to be their hometown, were always attended by many enthusiastic fans. The recently discovered tape was recorded at the July 30 pickup by the built-in microphone of a Marantz boom box. Unfortunately, the tape was cut off in the middle of the last song, "The Last One," but producer Makoto Kubota realized the potential hidden in the tape, and once again used his skills to bring back the raw dynamism of the recording and compile it into an album. As those involved testified, "There was something different about the Raleighs in Kyoto, something different about the sound." From this tape, one can hear a sound of such a huge scale that it is hard to believe that it was heard in the space at Paitoku. (1/2)
