Moreover, it is even more difficult to create harpsichord or clavichord-like effects on the piano, as Gould has done. This is a huge milestone in the history of Bach performance, shining a new light on Bach's music. In the 1970s, when this album was released, it was rare to find an album of this music performed entirely on piano.
