Born in Tokyo in 1968, he studied under Toshiya Eto. After graduating from Toho Gakuen Diploma Course in 1989, he was selected as a solo concertmaster of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 1990 at the age of 22. Since 1992, he has been one of the concertmasters of the Japan Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed to great acclaim under such renowned conductors as Takashi Asahina, Seiji Ozawa, Hiroshi Wakasugi, Jean Fournet, Bernhard Klee, James De Priest, Eliahu Inbal, and Gary Bertini. In 1997, she performed the violin solo in NHK's television series "Aguri," saying, "The beautiful sound of the violin starts the morning with a fresh and clean feeling. The performance was a great hit even with viewers unfamiliar with classical music.In December 2003, he performed music for NHK's 50th anniversary TV drama "Kawa, Someday to the Sea (composed by Taro Iwashiro)". In addition to duo concerts with Yukio Yokoyama and others, he has received high acclaim for his "Kotonoha Concert (recitation of Yasunari Kawabata's works and Bach performance)," a recitation and music concert with Toru Emori. In April 2004, he was appointed professor at the Faculty of Music and Cultural Studies of Ueno Gakuen University.
