The Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the world's largest music festivals with a 55-year history. The "THE MONTREUX YEARS" series unravels rare sound recordings from the vast and rich collection of the late Claude Nobs, the founder of the festival. This series features historically and musically significant performances by icons of music history, including fusion pioneer and master jazz pianist Chick Corea! The Montreux Jazz Festival, one of the world's largest music festivals, started in 1967 and will be held for the 56th time this year. The festival has featured many iconic artists who have made music history, and has produced some of the most memorable performances in history. The collection is called Montreux Sounds and is a vast and valuable collection. In 2013, Montreux Sounds was recognized by UNESCO, The Montreux Jazz Festival and BMG have teamed up to launch a series called "THE MONTREUX YEARS," which will unravel the vast collection of music in the Montreux Sounds.The series, which to date has released works by Etta James, Nina Simone, Muddy Waters, Marianne Faithfull, and John McLaughlin, not only brings legendary performances by world-class artists back to life in the present day, but also includes previously unreleased material from the festival's 55-year rich history. The series will not only bring legendary performances by world-class artists back to life, but will also include a wealth of previously unreleased material from the festival's rich 55-year history, as well as a booklet with newly written liner notes and previously unpublished photos, making it a series with great significance in music history.
