Three harmonies that resonate with each other. The prog rock supergroup D'Virgilio, Morse & Jennings has already released their album "Troika", which has been called the "CROSBY, STILLS & NASH of the prog rock world". Neal Morse wrote a few songs on acoustic guitar during the lockdown and chaos of the fall of 2020, and began to carefully select the band because he felt as if someone else was singing. We wanted a good blend of vocals, but most of all, we wanted three singers who would be involved in the songwriting process," said Morse. We could contribute to each other's songs. About three days after Christmas that year, Ross Jennings received an email from Neal inviting him to join the band. I've always been interested in acoustic music with vocal harmonies," Ross Jennings said. I've always been interested in music with acoustic vocals and harmony, so my response to Neal was a resounding "yes" without hesitation. I have been humming the songs of SPOCK'S BEARD since I was young. The other member of the trio, Nick D'Virgilio, and I had been singing CROSBY, STILLS & NASH all night long on the tour bus after shows when we were both in SPOCK'S BEARD, and he was totally on board with this exciting project. The trio shared songs that utilized the three-part harmonies they had on hand, and as a result of exchanging ideas with each other, a number of songs were born that fit together so naturally that this project became something special for all three of them. The song "Julia," released in advance of the release, is a beautiful song with layers of vocal harmonies and an acoustic sound. Above all, the relaxed mood that surrounds the song is comforting and relaxing.There does not seem to be a unified lyric for this album, but it does contain several political themes. For example, "A Change Is Gonna Come," written in the summer of 2020, is inspired by the words of Martin Luther King, Jr. against a wildly divisive America. The song "Musically, it's simple and acoustic guitar-heavy, but the final mix adds a lot of instruments, just as SPOCK'S BEARD's song "June" (from the 1998 album "The Kindness of Strangers") is a favorite of many fans. I think many people will like this album in the same way. This album is all about the blend of songs, atmosphere, and vocals. We are happy to have done this! Neal confidently states, "I'm happy to have been able to make this album!
