Albrecht Mayer - Italian Treasures" is a Baroque album of oboe concertos by the Berlin Philharmonic's principal oboist, Meyer, featuring Vivaldi and other Italian composers from the early to mid 18th century. With the exception of Vivaldi's famous RV450, Meyer has explored and recorded some of the forgotten treasures of the Italian Baroque. These rare recordings, including three works by Giuseppe Sammartini, who was also an oboe player, are important for the oboe repertoire and have contributed greatly to expanding the repertoire.
