Monteverdi" has become synonymous with The Sixteen & Harry Christophers as one of the most important works in their repertoire, thanks to their masterful performances of "The Ethical and Religious Forest" and "The Evening Prayer of the Virgin Mary". Published by Venetian publisher Vincenti in 1950 after the composer's death, the "Four-Voice Mass and Psalmody" is considered one of Monteverdi's greatest works, including a masterpiece composed while he was music director of St. Mark's Basilica. This "second collection" includes "Mass in Four Voices (1650)," one of Monteverdi's three surviving masses, and "We are Full of Joy I SV. 198" and more.
