Classical Opera & New Ian Page Recordings! Founded in 1997 by Ian Page, a specialist in the music of Mozart's "Bastien and Bastienne" and his contemporaries, Classical Opera is the most exciting period-instrument opera company in the UK today. Classical Opera's latest recording project for 2018, which aims to complete the recording of all of Mozart's operas, includes Bastian and Bastienne, the only Mozart opera in one act (Zingspiel) written for performance in a private house rather than a theater, and Christ's The "Music of the Holy Sepulcher," a cantata depicting a dialogue between an angel and a spirit lamenting the death of Christ, and two works composed by Mozart when he was a child prodigy. The recording features not only the excellent interpretation by Ian Page, who has been highly acclaimed for his performances and recordings of "original versions" of many Mozart operas, but also the participation of notable singers such as Anna Luzia Richter and Jacques Imbrailo.
