Orhan Memed

Description:

Orhan Medt is highly acclaimed for his fragrant performances. His latest piano performance recording in August 2021 is Haydn and Debussy! Orhan Medved is an American-born harpsichordist and pianist currently based in Rome. He has previously released works by J.S. Bach and Scarlatti, but this time he takes up Haydn and Debussy. The appeal of Med's music is that he plays each piece with a deep articulation. In Haydn's Sonatas No. 50 in C major and No. 32 in B minor, he played beautifully and fragrantly. In Debussy, he recorded "In Praise of Rameau" and the Bergamasque Suite. Debussy chose "In Praise of Rameau" instead of "In Praise of Haydn," which was written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Haydn's death. Memed says, "This leisurely dance invites us to a world of dreamy introspection. The final piece was the Bergamasque Suite. The masterpiece "Moonlight" strongly expresses the cry of Memed's heart as he questions himself about the Corona disaster and his desire to deliver beautiful music to his listeners. We hope you will fully enjoy this new recording by Memed, who is highly acclaimed not only for his performance but also for his recording. Orhan Memed (piano) studied piano and violin at the University of Southern California, and after completing his doctorate in musicology at Oxford University, he moved to Paris to study with Huguette Dreyfus (1928-2016). Since then, he has gained Dreyfus' immense trust and is attracting attention as Dreyfus' treasured son.In 2018, he made his long-awaited and much talked about first visit to Japan. He is currently based in Rome. He has released several recordings on his own label, including "J.S. Bach: Goltberg Variations (harpsichord performance)" (KKC-5974/VLGV-01), "J.S. Bach: 6 Partitas (harpsichord performance)" (KKC-6064/RMBP-02), and "Scarlatti: Sonatas (piano performance)" (KKC- 6315/RMCJ-07) [Record Geijutsu Semi-Special Selection], etc. King International
