Heinrich Bruckner, a Viennese virtuoso who has been active for many years as an orchestral player, including principal trumpet of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, as a member of brass ensembles, and as a soloist, and who has recently been working with period instruments, has been playing the trumpet in a wide variety of styles. This is a compilation of recordings made between 2002 and 2005 with a baroque ensemble consisting of members of the Vienna Konzerthverein and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. The performances beautifully reflect the diversity of the trumpet's sound, both as a brilliant solo instrument and as a sensitive collaborative instrument for voice, oboe and strings, and other instruments. Born in Vienna in 1965. In 1985, he earned a degree in performance at the top of his class, and from 1985 to 1987 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Josef Pomberger. Since 1984, he has been a member of the Art of Brass Vienna, where he also arranges music. In 1999, he became a member of the Ensemble Thonus. He has played with various orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Niederösterreich Tonkünstlerorchester, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Austrian Chamber Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Kammerphilharmonie, Wiener Konzerthverein, Baroque Orchestra Johann Josef Fuchs, Vienna Symphony Orchestra Baroque Ensemble, as well as with renowned organists and piano players. He has also performed with various ensembles such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra Jazz Project, Flip Philipp Ed Partika Octet, Pro Brass, Bach Consort Vienna, Konzentus Musiks, Die Reie, Ensemble Contrapunkte, Wiener Virtuosen, Klangforum Wien, Vienna Instrumental Soloists, and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series.
