Description:

(Jolivet's) works are characterized by a style that is not bound by the currents of Western music, and many of them have a primitive and somewhat ethnic atmosphere. His works for flute are no exception, written in an inspirational style with themes of spells and magic to which he was obsessed. The flute instrument has a long history of being associated with ghosts, both in the West and in the East, so Jolivet must have tried to use its mysterious and holy sound in his works. [Shigeki Saeki/from the program description]Vienna-based Gisela Mashayeki-Bare and Mika Mori bring you the world of Jolivet with their breathtakingly perfect technique. Please also enjoy the expressive and enjoyable "Divertimento" by Francais. <Born in Passau, Germany, she studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum Conservatory from 1983 to 1985 and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Wolfgang Schulze.
