Following their CD debut in June 2005 with FOCD9236 and their second release, FOCD9337, this is the third release from this young super duo. Nikolai Kapustin is a Russian composer known not only for his classical music but also as a jazz performer and composer; his unique background and personality have drawn global attention. This album features a selection of works centered on his violin sonatas. Tatsuro Nishie is a violinist whose popularity is skyrocketing; he became concertmaster of the Sendai Philharmonic at the young age of 24 and currently serves as concertmaster of the New Japan Philharmonic. His activities span solo performances, chamber music, and concertos. Meanwhile, the Italian prodigy Giuseppe Andarolo burst onto the scene after winning the 1st Sendai International Competition and the 2002 London International Competition, and went on to win the Busoni International Piano Competition in 2005.
